From Sambava to the world — our journey
M-Vanilla was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to connect the extraordinary vanilla of Madagascar with the world while creating meaningful opportunities for the farmers who grow it.
Our story began in 2015, when the founder of M-Vanilla first visited Sambava, a coastal city in northern Madagascar and one of the world's most important vanilla-producing regions. During this visit, he witnessed both the incredible potential of Madagascar's vanilla and the difficult reality faced by many farmers.



Madagascar is home to one of the richest agricultural traditions in the world. In fact, more than 80% of Malagasy households rely on agriculture for their livelihood. Yet despite their dedication and expertise, only a small number of farmers have access to stable markets, formal contracts, or reliable income sources. Many vanilla growers work hard each season without knowing whether they will have consistent buyers for their harvest.
Seeing this situation raised an important question: What if Madagascar's exceptional vanilla could reach the international market in a way that also creates stable opportunities for the farmers behind it?
Motivated by this idea, the founder began working closely with producers in the region, searching for reliable international outlets for their vanilla. Over time, efforts were made to professionalize the production chain, improve quality standards, and build relationships with international buyers.
By 2018, these efforts led to the first successful B2B exports, connecting Madagascar vanilla directly with professional clients abroad.
But the vision did not stop there.
After several years of experience working with international partners, a new ambition emerged: to make this exceptional vanilla accessible not only to businesses but also directly to consumers who appreciate authentic, high-quality ingredients.
This vision led to the creation of M-Vanilla in 2026.
Today, M-Vanilla aims to build a bridge between dedicated Malagasy vanilla farmers and customers around the world. By working closely with producers in the SAVA region of northeastern Madagascar, we strive to provide fair, reliable, and long-term market opportunities for their harvest. This stability allows farmers to focus on what they do best: cultivating vanilla with care while maintaining exceptional quality.
But our commitment goes beyond vanilla.
At M-Vanilla, we believe that responsible business should also contribute to social development. That is why a percentage of every sale is dedicated to supporting the education of Malagasy children. By investing in education, we hope to help create brighter opportunities for the next generation.
